When considering how to acquire low-cost content for your business, you might want to consider Private Label Rights, or PLR products. This refers to content produced by one person but purchased and usually claimed by another. The purchaser will then use these products for websites, blogs, web 2.0 properties, auto-responder sequences, or even e-books, to help them interact with their own field of clients and prospects.
The relatively low cost of PLR reports and content is a significant advantage over non-PLR products, which can often be expensive.
However, since PLR products are often sold more than once, you could potentially see the same content on a competitor’s website. The solution is to take the content, read it through, and then edit it and put a unique spin on it. This way, even if the original content is sold more than once, it won’t be identical to what you employ in your business.
Personalizing content is important because of the nature of search engines like Google. For example, have you ever searched Google only to see that, on their results page, they say something about content being similar and filtering the results? That is a duplicate content filter at work.
Once you’ve edited and personalized the content, you can avoid tripping the filters by simply changing the main keyword if you’re posting the article on more than one site.
It helps to also get a handle on these four rights distinctions:
– Unrestricted Private Label Rights for PLR – The most flexible of all rights, so it is generally considered to be the most valuable, too. You can do nearly anything with these products, including branding, renaming, editing, selling as your own, and bundling with other items.
– “Typical” Private Label Rights for PLR – Allow rewriting, editing, and claiming content as your own, but there are some restrictions with the selling price.
– Master Resell Rights for PLR – Allow you to resell the products but not edit them in any way or call them your own. You are allowed to give away the articles or resell the rights.
– Resell Rights for PLR Reports and Content – The weakest of all PLR rights and therefore the least valuable. You cannot change the content or give away the rights to it only PLR you can.
